How to Use This PDF & Image Compressor

  1. Upload your files. Drag them onto the box or tap Choose Files. You can mix things freely — five phone photos and a scanned PDF in one go is fine. There's no file count limit and no size limit beyond what your device's memory can hold.
  2. Look at the size chips. The moment a file loads, the tool quietly compresses it at all three levels in the background and prints the result next to the file: something like Normal 412 KB · Medium 218 KB · Hard 96 KB. You're never guessing what a level will do — the number is right there before you commit.
  3. Pick a level — or a target. Normal keeps quality high and trims the easy fat. Medium is the everyday choice for email attachments and form uploads. Normal vs Medium vs Hard — What Actually Changes

All three levels do the same two things, just with different aggression: they re-encode the image data at a lower quality setting, and past a point they also reduce the resolution. Here's the honest breakdown:

Normal

High quality re-encode at full resolution. On a straight-from-phone photo this alone often cuts 50–70% of the size, because phone cameras save at wastefully high quality settings. Use it when the file just needs to be smaller and nobody should notice anything.

Medium

Moderate quality plus a slight resolution trim. This is the sweet spot for email attachments, WhatsApp documents, and most "file too large" errors. Text in scanned PDFs stays comfortably readable.

Hard

Low quality and a real resolution cut. Files get dramatically small — often under a tenth of the original — but smooth gradients get blocky and fine print softens. Use it for previews, drafts, or when a portal's size limit is brutal.

Target Size

You name the number; the tool binary-searches the quality setting (and shrinks resolution if quality alone can't get there) until each file lands under your KB limit. This is the mode built for government portals, job applications and exam forms that demand "photo under 50 KB, signature under 20 KB".
